8 How to include or exclude retweets in your report

With the Twitter advanced search commands you can easily filter the results of your report. So, if you want to exclude retweets from your report you can do it by adding -RT at the end of your search. If you want to analyze original tweets containing the hashtag #SocialMedia you need to type #SocialMedia -RT in the search box. You can also do this from the advanced search form by adding RT in the field MUST NOT CONTAIN.

If you need to just include retweets  in your report, you need to type your hashtag followed by RT. So, the resulting query should be #SocialMedia RT. This way you will get a report that just analyzes retweets. You can do this as well from the advanced search form by adding RT in the field MUST CONTAIN.

Remember that by using the upper search box you will create a 7-day report that analyzes just the past 7 days. But you can use the advanced search for for any type of report. So the filter to include or exclude retweets can also be used in 30-day reports and Twitter historical reports.

9 How to analyze tweets sent by an account

You can easily look for the tweets sent by an account. To do so just type from: followed by the Twitter handle you need to analyze. So, imagine that you need to retrieve the tweets sent by Lady Gaga, you just need to type the following query in the search box: from:@LadyGaga. This way you will get a 7-day report that analyzes the tweets sent by Lady Gaga in the past 7 days.

If you have an active MEDIUM, ADVANCED or PREMIUM plan you can contact us to create a 30-day or a historical report with the tweets sent by an account. You can reach us at any time at support@tweetbinder.com

10 How to detect the influencers in a report

Tweet Binder has developed a system that will help you to detect who the influencers in your report are. You just need to follow these steps:

  1. 1. Create a Twitter report
  2. 2. Go to the TWEETS tab
  3. 3. Click on “influencers” button
  4. 4. Wait until the influencers are generated. Depending on the number of contributors in a report this process can take up to 5 minutes.

We consider that influencers are those people who influence a lot of people or that influence a lot without mattering how many people. There are two metrics to detect influencers:

  • Influence percentile: A percentage that goes from 0% to 100% and shows how influential an account is in relation to Twitter’s average. If an account has a percentile of 90% it means that it influences more than the 90% of the Twitter accounts.
  • Engagement score: Goes from A+ to F and shows if an account engages more or less than it is expected to. So, if an account has an engagement score of A+ it means that its engagement is way higher than expected.
